At Salamanca Wharf Cafe the smiles were plentiful, the service friendly and the food satisfying. The pastries, hot breakfasts and burgers on offer also present what we consider to be pretty good value for the Salamanca precinct. Try them, tell us what you think!

PerMission to Eat | Hobart
PerMission to Eat has a heart of gold, and is going out of its way to make a difference to Hobart’s less privileged, whether that be through a free meal or through the numerous employment opportunities that have arisen as a result of the resounding success of the cafe. The atmosphere is laid back, the service cheerful and the outlook sunny! Take the short walk out of town to experience quality dishes being created under the gaze of one of Tasmania’s best chefs, and walk back again knowing you’ve put a smile on someone’s face.
Old bikes and big breakfasts at Moto Vecchia | Hobart, Tasmania
Don’t get me wrong, Vietnamese food is insanely good! Considering it took me 30 years to evolve from 2-minute chicken-flavoured Maggi noodles (often dry out of the packet…great playground snack!!) […]
Lunch at Venus Lifestyle | Hobart, Tasmania [now closed]

Breakfast at Shoebox Cafe | Hobart, Tasmania
I can’t say with confidence that this is a fair perspective on Shoebox, so take everything from this point on with a grain of salt. <cue violins…now> I walked in […]

Breakfast at Phoenix and the Wolf – Perth, Tasmania [now closed]
This was going to be a story about a name. Unlike like an accidental plot reveal, or a ‘tell all’ expose of a magicians art, a palette of grey paints life […]
Jam and bread? I want more!! – Margate, Tasmania
well…not really. An epic slice of cheesecake, post-The Cat’s Tongue Chocolatiers-post-Red Velvet Lounge, was more than enough to send me into a sugar coma from which I didn’t recover until […]
The cat’s tongue…mmm…delicious! – Huonville, Tasmania
After a fantastic start to our day at Red Velvet Lounge (sans doughnuts which looked oh so delectable but would certainly have ruined our appetites), we were up for something […]
